NW Doodle Breeders Summit

posted Mar 8, 2013, 11:54 AM by Meredith Norlindh

I am currently on a visit to Portland, Oregon in the United States to attend a conference on the breeding of Australian Labradoodles!  It is so exciting to meet breeders on the other side of the world and learn about Addison's disease in Labradoodles, doodle grooming and a bunch of other fun doodle related things!  I will be doing a presentation of everything I have learned on this trip at the yearly meeting for the Australian Labradoodle Association of Europe at our yearly meeting in Holland, June 8th, 2013.

Labradoodle Romp Weekend

posted Oct 8, 2012, 8:24 AM by Meredith Norlindh

Come join Norrland Labradoodles and several other breeders and Australian Labradoodle enthusiasts for a romp around Tavelsjö and a delicious home cooked lunch!  After the fresh air and fun, we'll be settling down to commence the Scandinavian Labradoodle Association/ Australian Labradoodle Association of Scandinavia.  The evening will be rounded off with a meal out for everyone at the Bistro Le Garage, a local restaurant known for their excellent food which is typical of the Västerbotten.  This weekend will be filled with delightful doodles, fall colours, excellent company and good work for the doodles we all love! The Scandinavian Labradoodle Association/ Australian Labradoodle Association of Scandinavia will set the framework for Labradoodle breeding in our northern neck of the world and ensure that our dogs are being health tested and bred humanely.  It will also define a breed standard and set out a breeding strategy to make sure that the Labradoodles being bred in Scandinavia are being developed along the best lines possible.  Come and join us for the romp and lunch to meet some fantastic people and dogs or for the whole day!

Goodbye Beautiful Girl

On the afternoon of Thursday, October 13th, 2011 I finished launching my Labradoodle webpage then piled my dogs into the car for a trip to the vets.  My oldest little friend, Gabby  had been suffering from arthritis and deafness for several years.  Over the summer Gabby's arthritis has worsened and testing showed that her liver was not holding up well with the arthritis medication.  Sadly that car ride in the middle of October was to be my beloved little girls last.  The vet told me that her liver was in failure and that it was time to say goodbye to the scruffy little gray dog who had been my companion and friend for over 13 years.  Gabby was put peacefully to sleep with her head in my hands.  She will be cremated and planted under a tree at our family home.  I will miss her terribly, but it was the right thing to do for her.  RIP Gabriella Myrtle Maud Norlindh.  April 1st 1996- October 13th 2011.

Welcome Bronte Lisa

We are delighted to let everyone know that Bronte has fit wonderfully into our family and is growing up beautifully!  She is charming, engaging, sweet and GORGEOUS.  I honestly think she is one of the cutest dogs I've ever seen.   She and Hagrid are really good friends, though he has definitely become a big brother since she arrived.  Before he played the baby all the time, but now he has become much more mature and even tells Bronte not to chew shoes or jump on the bed late at night.  They have so much fun running and wrestling together on our walks in the woods.
